End of Abyss Bosses: Every Confirmed Boss Before Launch
No official End of Abyss boss list exists yet. Here is every boss confirmed before launch, from the centipede-class monstrosity to Game Informer's reveal.
Is There an Official End of Abyss Boss List?
No — Section 9 Interactive and publisher Epic Games Publishing have not announced a single official boss name, let alone a full list, ahead of the October 1, 2026 launch. What does exist is verifiable pre-launch material: an interview confirming the game has several bosses with distinct looks and behaviors, plus two separate press showings where bosses actually appeared on screen. This page collects everything that can be confirmed today, clearly labeled by source, and flags what is unofficial community shorthand. Once the game is out, this page becomes the full boss index with one strategy page per boss.
What Is the Centipede-Class Boss IGN Fought?
The best-documented boss so far is a giant, centipede-like monstrosity that IGN battled during a June 2026 hands-on — fought in a round arena, where it coils around the player and squeezes. That squeeze matters in a twin-stick shooter: a boss that wraps the arena shrinks your safe space from every direction at once, so dodging has to happen before the coil closes, not during it.
Two things to keep straight about this fight:
- “Centipede boss” is not an official name. It is an unofficial descriptor — players and press describing a giant, many-legged, centipede-shaped monstrosity. Section 9 Interactive has not named it.
- Everything known comes from the hands-on context. The round arena and the coil-and-squeeze attack are observed from IGN’s play session, not from official materials. Health values, phases, weaknesses, and its place in the story aren’t public yet — we’ll verify all of that at launch.
For how the game’s moment-to-moment combat works — twin-stick aiming, dodging, and resource pressure — see the combat guide, and the beginner guide covers the systems you’ll want to understand before any boss attempt.
What Did Game Informer’s Exclusive Boss Reveal Show?
A second, still-unnamed boss is confirmed to exist, debuted in exclusive footage published by Game Informer on May 11, 2026 (via NGT). The reveal confirms the game’s boss roster goes beyond the centipede-class monstrosity, with another boss carrying its own distinct look and behavior.
What is known is short by design: the boss exists, and Game Informer showed it first. Its official name, arena, mechanics, and story role haven’t been announced. That two different outlets have now shown two different bosses — before release, from press builds — supports what the developers told CGMagazine: several bosses with distinct looks and behaviors are in the game. How many several means isn’t public yet.
Which Enemies Are Confirmed Before Launch?
Press previews and official material confirm a monstrous roster Cel faces inside the facility: zombie-like grabbers, mutated humans, dog-like creatures, splitting enemies, bipedal monstrosities, spider-cross creatures — and robots. The reveal trailer carries the game’s hook line: “To the one who hears this message, we are waiting for you.”

The enemy types worth knowing from press coverage:
- Zombie-like grabbers and mutated humans — the facility’s transformed occupants, consistent with the story of a parasitic entity that consumed everyone inside (see the story and lore primer).
- Dog-like creatures — fast, low-profile threats in a top-down camera, where anything small and quick is harder to track.
- Splitting enemies — creatures that break into multiple threats when damaged, punishing careless shooting.
- Bipedal monstrosities with organic growth heads and spider/hand-cross creatures — the body-horror end of the roster.
- Robots — the one enemy family that clearly isn’t biological, and an open question for the lore: what are machines doing in a facility consumed by a parasite? The answer isn’t public yet.
None of these are confirmed as bosses — the line between elite enemy and boss will be settled at launch.
What Should Boss Hunters Expect at Launch?
At launch, this page becomes the complete boss list — official names in order of appearance, with a dedicated strategy page for every boss, updated on day one. End of Abyss releases October 1, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Epic Games Store) for $29.99, so every boss can be catalogued from the retail build rather than press demos.
The day-one update plan:
- Replace all unofficial descriptors (like “centipede boss”) with official names as they appear in-game.
- One page per boss: arena, behavior, how the fight actually works, and what follows it in the facility’s depths.
- Cross-links from each boss page to the combat guide, the map and areas guide for where each fight happens, and the story primer for what each boss implies about the facility.
Until then, treat any site publishing a “complete End of Abyss boss list” with named bosses as fabrication — there is no official list to copy from. Check back here on launch day.
